What’s In My Makeup Bag

I am a member of the Amazon Associates Affiliate Program, as an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases at no cost to you!

Being a minimalist and all together low maintenance person has it’s advantages, one of which is having a super low budget when it comes to beauty products.

Make up has never been a strong suit of mine, but over the years I’ve gained enough skill to be able to look like an adult when the situation arises, today we’re gonna take a look through my make up bag at exactly what makes the cut when it comes to my minimalist beauty routine.

A rare selfie of Ez and I in our natural habitat.

Eyes

1. Wet and Wild Liquid Liner

I’ve been using this stuff since I was fifteen and man does it create a flawless cat eye every.single.time. I go through spurts where I wear it religiously or not at all, but everytime I wear it I feel amazing and it’s super low cost! You can find it on Amazon for less than $6 here.

2. Wet and Wild Mega Protein Mascara

I found this gem at CVS last year and have been hooked ever since! Super affordable and makes the lashes look great, finding a mascara that doesn’t clump and also isn’t super expensive is something I didn’t think existed. You can find it on Amazon here.

3. Hard Candy Pro Palette

This gem is full of earth tones, both matte and shimmery, and is the only palette I use for eye shadow at the moment. Available on Amazon for less than $15, as a minimalist and casual makeup wearer, it was important to find an eye shadow palette that was full of variety but also super affordable.

Lips

1. Elf dual lip stick

This was a target find, but can be bought on Amazon here and it is literally the only lipstick I own. With a convenient day time and night time color option, the affordable and adorable lipstick is perfect for someone like me who wears it once in a while but loves to have options. I always opt for a classic red lip because honestly I don’t know anything else, but I love that the colors aren’t overwhelming and give just enough sass to my makeup look.

Face

1. Jergens Coconut Oil Lotion

I skip the foundation and concealer and use good old fashion Jergens lotion to keep my face looking fresh. Available here, this is currently my go to everything lotion as it smells amazing but also keeps my dry skin from getting unbearable.

2. Wet and Wild Color Icon Just Peachy Blush

If you can’t tell, wet and wild is my go to brand since they’re extremely affordable and great quality, but I love the just peachy blush as it gives my already pinkish face a little extra something for when I want to be a total grown up for the night. You can find it on Amazon here.

The Wrap Up

Being a minimalist doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the things that make you feel like a real human! I love the low maintenance lifestyle but also love having the chance to hide my tired mom eyes with a quick sweep of eye liner and mascara!

Feeling confident in my own skin is the best weapon I have against the chaos of my day, so having a fall back beauty routine thats quick and easy is definitely something I find helpful on the days I feel like curling up in a ball and calling it quits. Some may call it self care, but being able to fake the funk with some low cost beauty products is one way of self preservation I’m sure a lot of moms can relate to.
